Module II of the training programme involving the second group of young people from the five project countries was held on Tuesday 14th of April.
It started with the presentation and discussion on some of the homeworks edited by participants on EU Youth Goals (see ATTACHMENT).
Then, the trainer introduced the basic steps of the EU accession process and highlighted the role of youth and civil society in the enlargement agenda.
Participants were invited to discuss in small groups about the following issues:
- What opportunities could EU membership bring to your country?
- What benefits has EU membership already brought to EU countries?
- What challenges might arise?
One of the Montenegrin participants expressed the following:
“Montenegrins would be able to live, study, and travel freely within the EU. Easier access to EU universities and programs like Erasmus+. EU funds help finance roads, railways, energy systems, and digital infrastructure. Support for rural development, tourism, and environmental projects. Modernization of public services like healthcare and education.”
The training session went on with a presentation of the New European Bauhaus Initiative which was focused on the possible role that youth could play in its implementation and development.
Successively, Fotis Kizakis, representative of the Greek project partner ARSIS, introduced the experience of its organization in designing and implementing projects and initiatives with and for young people.
Finally, participants were assigned a challenging and exciting Homework: to write an idea/proposal for a youth project that could promote cooperation or inclusion in their communities….to discover them, don’t miss the Module III that will be held on Friday 17 of April, from 6 to 8 p.m. On Zoom platform!!
